Justice B.R. Gavai to Become India’s 52nd Chief Justice

India’s Supreme Court is set to welcome new leadership soon. After the retirement of the current Chief Justice, Justice Sanjeev Khanna, on May 13, 2025, Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai will take the oath as the 52nd Chief Justice of India on May 14, 2025. His name has been officially recommended by Chief Justice Khanna and forwarded to the Union Ministry of Law for approval.
